About Us
Ringland is a good school and judged as a Green A school under Welsh Government’s categoraisation. Ringland school was first opened in 1958 as two separate schools. The two schools amalgamated in 2004. The school offers the benefits of a large spacious site, with the most wonderful, panoramic views looking out and over the channel, as well as across Newport.
We cater for pupils from age 3 to 11 years and have two Learning Resource Base classes which supports children with Special Education needs from both our own setting and from schools across Newport.
The school environment is warm and welcoming, with each classroom and communal area thoughtfully resourced and furnished to a high standard to create a sense of wellbeing for all. We have three spacious open playgrounds, as well as a large school field, along with a number of grass, forest school areas and a school allotment
The school offers three halls, a separate Early Years building for our reception and nursery children with its own outdoor learning environments and parent’s room. The main school building boasts a nurture room, a school library, an innovation suite, an Art, Design and Technology suite, a woodwork shed, Music/ Circle time room and Community Radio Station.
We are located in close proximity to our secondary school, Llanwern High School and work collaboratively with them to ensure the most effective transition for our children into their secondary education.
We consider ourselves extremely lucky to have such a wonderful school environment which supports and helps us here at Ringland Primary School to achieve the vision and values for our whole school community.
